“You rather her be cold instead.” Dean sneers pushing me out of the way.

A harsh intake of air has me looking up.

  “Damn.” Dean groans.

I smirk, “Now you know how I felt.”

Dean’s copper eyes are glowing as they flicker over Avery.

“You still should have taken her out. So, what if she gets mad. She’s our mate and it’s bound to happen more times than we will be able to count.”

I watch as Dean nods his head and steps into the bathroom. Leaving me space to watch from the doorway.

“She was really tired,” Dean says softly, his thumb ghosting across Avery’s lips.

  “Yeah.” I sigh watching them.

It still shocks me that I feel no jealousy when Dean touches Avery. Growing up we all heard the stories of fits of jealousy when a man looks at a newly mated couple before the bond had a chance to settle. It never ended well. But with Dean, I feel no jealousy when he’s with Avery. It feels right seeing them together and her happy.

I watch as Dean grabs the metal links to the drain and pulls. We both hold our breaths as the sucking sound of water going down the drain fills the room.

Avery stirred a soft grumbled under her breath but doesn’t wake.

We both let out our pent-up air.

“Grab a towel,” Dean says flustered.

I want to laugh, never seeing this flustered look on Dean but hold it in.

Dean leans over scooping up a very wet and naked Avery into his arms. I take the towel folding it around her body, covering as much as her skin as I can.

I look down at Avery sleeping, a soft smile on my lips. For her to be sleeping still shows how tired and wore out she is.

  “Now what?” I whisper.

“I’m going to put her in bed,” Dean says stepping around me and walking down the stairs.

  “Naked?”

“Yeah,” Dean laughs. “That’ll teach her not to fall asleep in the bathtub.”

I groan. It’s going to be a long night.

  CHAPTER SIX

My eyes pop open at the same time my mouth forms an O. A hand just glided across my bum. Now, normally this wouldn’t be something new. I’ve become used to having hands, on places on my body while we sleep. That just sounded dirty. We tend to cuddle ya know. It’s just something we do in our sleep. Normal.

What’s not normal is that my bum is bare. Yep completely bare and from the heat, I feel cupping my right boob it’s bare too.

Oh my god. What is going on? I whine and scoot over causing the hand on my boob to flex slightly making me freeze. My heart picks up its rhythm.

Breathe Avery just breathe. Yeah, so not helping.

I close my eyes trying to remember what happened. We’re here at this Farmhouse Jeff rented. Cam was cooking, and I decided to take a bath. Did I fall asleep in the bathtub?

I must have. The last thing I remember is closing my eyes letting the hot water soothe me.

Why didn’t they just wake me up?

I raise my head up and look to the right. Kayden is the boob grabber. I should've known it was him.

His dark hair is chaotic and tousled over his face. His mouth is slightly open, small snores floating through the air. At least he’s still asleep.

I’m mortified they did this to me. And pissed. Yes, most definitely pissed. Couldn’t they wake me?

I jerk to the left when I feel that hand delicately trail down my butt and curve around the bottom of my right butt cheek. Feather soft caresses going down my thigh.

Bright copper eyes and that smirk are inches from my face when I turn my head to the left and I just stare. My heart is pounding, and my mouth dries up like a desert. What to do? This should be okay. I shouldn’t be freaking out being naked in bed with my mates but I am. It’s either scream or cry.

This is his fault. Dean’s. I know Kayden would never do this to me. But Dean he’s a different breed altogether. He would think this is normal and nothing is wrong.

It feels wrong to me. Why? I don’t know. Maybe because I’m not ready to take this step into our relationship yet but here it is. Forced on me like so many other things.

I snap. Something different this time. I feel it in the air. I can taste it. His happiness and lust. I see it. A bright yellow and a pinkish red. The ribbons float lazily around his body.

I grab them. Twist them. Not to hurt, I got just enough control not to hurt him. I do make him feel though. I twist the ribbons to my desire. Embarrassment. Guilt.

I twist and turn watching his eyes widen and narrow. Watching as his face lights up bright red. Soon he’s looking down, from the guilt and embarrassment, falling out of bed with a thud and a distressing howl. It knocks me loose and my grip on his emotions vanish.

“Oh my gosh,” I whisper under my breath the same time Kayden jerks up a heavy growl pulling his lips back. His straight white teeth shining.

I jerk the blanket off him and roll myself up, tumbling to the floor beside a dazed Dean.

“I’m sorry.” My hands flutter around his head then grip the blanket tight to my chest.

He just stares up at the wood planked ceiling. Wide eyes, panting breaths.

I look up to a shirtless Kayden. “I didn’t mean to,” I mumble at his surprised gaze.

It’s so quiet the only sound is Dean’s panting breaths. Whoosh. In and out.

“Did I break him?” I look at Kayden and feel tears start to pool in my eyes. I didn’t mean to hurt Dean. I was upset and just acted out without thought.

I jerk back, “You have your nipple pierced.” I point at the shining hoop in his left nipple.

This is the first time I’ve seen Kayden without his shirt on. He always has one on, will at least around me, unlike Dean who can’t seem to keep a shirt on for more than five minutes.

His eyes widen even more, and he looks away his cheeks turning pink.

  “Yes, you did.”

I jerk back around looking at Dean looking at me. His normally soft voice is high pitched, and I barely keep the giggles in. Wait, what?

My eyes widen, and I wheeze, “I broke you.” I screech looking at Kayden for help, who won’t meet my eyes.

“No.” Dean gulps sitting up. “You did it on purpose.” He says looking at me.

Alright, maybe I did. But I didn’t know it would affect him like this nor did I realize that it would hurt him.

I don’t look at him, instead staring at my bright green nail polish on my toes peeking out of the quilted blanket that’s still wrapped tight around me.

“You should have woken me up,” I mumble moving my toes up and down.

I yelp as I’m suddenly knocked over on my back, a boxer-clad Dean straddling my hips.

My hands tighten on the blanket. My chest moving so fast it’s like I ran a marathon.

“What was I supposed to do?” Dean grinds out between clenched lips, his hips rocking slightly, thighs flexing around my hips.

“Wake me up,” I whisper wide-eyed.

“When you needed the sleep. You expected me to wake you up when you needed the sleep.” His eyes flare brighter his voice growlie.

  “Dean.” Kayden growls out.

Dean’s eyes flick up and over then quickly back down to me, dismissing Kayden’s warning growl.

He leans in close the tip of his nose touching mine. He breathes in deep.

“I know you didn’t grow up in this world. Nor do you have our instincts. I will always take care of you. It’s bred into what we are. No matter how mad or uncomfortable that makes you.” He says softly staring deeply into my eyes. “You have to get rid of your idea that this. What’s between us, all three of us is a human thing. It is not. We are not human.” He says gruffly sitting up but not getting off of me.

Is that my problem? Why I can’t come to terms with some things because I think this is a human relationship?

All three of us snaps our heads towards the door when we hear a throat clear.

  Cam is standing
there in his superhero jammies looking intently at the ceiling.

“We have company.” He says and swiftly leaves.

I feel Dean’s body turn rigid, a primal aura coming off him in waves.

“What is it?” I whisper now scared.

“Wolves.” He spits out climbing off of me and pulling me up in one smooth motion. A quick kiss on my lips then he’s gone and out the door in only his lavender boxer briefs.

“He really needs to learn running around in his bloomers is not normal,” I say still staring out the door.

“We’re not normal Avery,” Kayden says lightly.

I close my eyes and groan. No, we’re not. When am I going to understand that?

  Chapter seven

“You should have woken me up,” Avery says still looking at her tiny toes.

If she was a wolf, she would've growled. Dean smiles as that thought flutters through his head.

Avery’s yelp has a small shiver going through his body. Maybe he shouldn’t have jumped on her like that. But Damn when is she going to understand that he and Kayden are not human. That they will not do the human thing.

Dean’s eyes narrow looking at Avery’s white-knuckled grip on the blanket. Her chest moving up and down. Pushing up her lush cleavage not covered by the blanket. A specific body part stir. Dean pushes down on the feeling now is not the time.

If she was a wolf this would be so much easier on all of them Dean thinks bitterly.

“What was I supposed to do?” Dean grinds out between clenched lips, feeling his teeth lengthen and sharpen. His hips rocking at their own accord.

“Wake me up,” Avery whispers wide-eyed, her voice hoarse.

Is she turned on? No not the time to think of that.

“When you needed the sleep. You expected me to wake you up when you needed the sleep.” Dean’s eyes flare brighter, his wolf riding his voice.

  “Dean,” Kayden growls out.

Dean looks at Kayden quickly a warning in his copper gaze. Seconds pass when he looks at his mate again.

Dean leans in close the tip of his nose touching Avery’s. Her scent surrounds him so much stronger. He just wants to kiss her. No, not yet that’s not the point he’s wanting to make.

“I know you didn’t grow up in this world. Nor do you have our instincts. I will always take care of you. It’s bred into what we are. No matter how mad or uncomfortable that makes you.” Dean says softly staring deeply into Avery’s ice blue eyes. “You have to get rid of your idea that this. What’s between us, all three of us is a human thing. It is not. We are not human.” He says gruffly sitting up but not getting off of Avery.

He doesn’t want to. No, not at all. He wants to stretch his body across hers, spread her thighs, settling between the softness of them and kiss her senseless. She’s not ready yet and he will wait as bad as he hates to.

All three of them snaps their heads towards the door when they hear a throat clear.

Cam is standing there in some type of kids clothing looking intently at the ceiling.

Dean does not understand that boy.

“We have company,” Cam says and high tails it out of the room. The scent of fear penetrating the air.

Dean’s body turns ridged, his wolf coming off him in waves. He’s been distracted from the threat right in their very home. Avery has made his guard drop. How pup like. He sneers. Dean should've known better. Never let your guard down.

“What is it?” Avery’s scared voice has him bursting at the seams. His skin crawling. His wolf wanting to break out. How dare they scare her.

“Wolves.” He spits out climbing off of Avery and pulling her up. A quick kiss on her lips, that he wishes would have lasted longer, then he’s gone and out the door.

Kayden’s brother pushed off of the wall seeing Dean leave the room.

The living room is right there. On the other side of the wall that their bedroom shares. The newcomers heard everything. Everything that went on in their den.

Dean growls. These fools should have never let them enter this house.

“Uh, you might want to get dressed.” Kayden’s brother says.

Dean can never remember his name. He grunts. Why dress and act like this is a decent conversation when it is absolutely not.

He rounds the corner, entering the living room. A snarl flying from his lips, his copper eyes glowing like twin flashlights in the dark.

Cam jumps making a mouse sound as Dean storms into the room.

His lips lit up slowly in a smirk seeing his pack didn’t offer the intruders a seat. He stares hard at the two males standing by the window. Both are dressed in black leathers with the Council mark upon their right breast. Dean’s teeth lengthen at his family’s crest being used in that way.

“What do you want?” Dean snarls taking a step closer. If he was in his wolf skin, his fur would be standing up.

The short, bulky fellow steps forward, his head tilting to the side. His brown eyes flashing a green-yellow.

Dean mimics him, letting his wolf out to stretch and prowl, showing his own power-ess.

The other wolf backs down, showing Dean his neck.

“Sir, we are to relinquish a letter to a Miss Avery Blackwell.” His voice is deep, scratchy.

Dean just stares at the young wolf. Just stares and stares and stares.

Both men step back, shifting feet and moving hands.

Dean’s deep hollow laugh rings out into the silent house. It’s loud and sarcastic.

“The Red Guard reduced to delivery boys, how far you have fallen.” Dean chuckles again moving forward and snatching the cream-colored envelope out of the man’s shaky hand.

“You have done your jobs. You may leave.” Dean mocks watching the two shift and look at each other.

“What!” Dean barks out, startling the men.

  “I do not think…”

“That’s right you do not think. You are just an errand boy. Get out.” Dean snarls, stepping forward watching the men scurry to the door.

Dean follows right on their heels, breathing down their necks. He stops at the end of the porch as the men take off at a steady run down the gravel drive.

Once the wolves are out of sight he storms back into the house. The door slamming in his wake.

“Is this what our society is like now?” Dean snarls throwing himself down in the soft brown couch in the living room. “Delivery boy.” He scoffs. Fuming silently.

It’s quiet for a while then bam suddenly, Nick starts hooting and howling.

“Oh, my gawd. Can you believe he just did that and in lavender underwear no less?” Nick hoots, tears forming in his eyes. “I love this family. First Avery and now you. I can not wait for what’s going to happen in these next three months.”

“Breakfast,” Cam says leaving the room with Aden on his heels.

“Are you going to open it?” Nick asks sitting down beside Dean.

“No. I would much rather burn it.” Dean says, sending daggers at the simple paper in his hands.

  CHAPTER EIGHT

I come out of the bathroom dressed in a pair of black shorts and a bright pink cami. Now, where did I put those flip-flops. I look around the floor.

  "Ah," I mumble.

Padding over to the bed I get down on my knees and snag my black flip-flops. I smile slipping them on my feet, wiggling my toes.

"You're beautiful." Kayden’s voice is huskier. Deeper.

  I look up and gulp.

He's dressed in a black tank and dark washed shorts. A pair of black and white converse on his feet. It's not the way he's dressed that has my pulse pounding. It's his voice. The heat in his eyes.

I slowly climb to my feet as he moves to me. A slow graceful prowl. I gulp again. A tornado of butterflies in my belly.

He stops inches from my face. His breath fluttering along my nose and lips. He smiles. His hand comes up and he slowly runs his thumb across my lips. They part with a gasp of air. I shiver.

  What's he doing to me?

He leans in and softly kisses the corner of my mouth. Heat flushes my body.

"You are breathtaking." He whispers kissing the other corner of my mouth.

My knees feel weak. Nah. My whole body does as he slides a hand around the back of my neck. Thumb gliding in small circles, sending goose bumps along my skin. I'm softly panting as I feel every touch sending tingles to my core.

My eyes flutter shut when he finally places his soft lips on mine. He kisses me slowly. Savoring every detail and I can't help the small moan that comes out. All of my senses center at this moment here between him and me.

He growls, the kiss becoming harder and faster. I gasp as I feel a wetness between my thighs. His tongue slips into my mouth as his hand slowly, oh so slowly slips into the waistband of my shorts. My panties. Leaving sparks in its wake.

I moan and pant into his mouth as a heat and a shiver forms in my core. He cups me, nibbling on my lip at the same time. I jolt and pant. The feel of his fingers sliding through my most sensitive spot is muscle jerking. I can't help but whine. A needy sound. Pushing on his hand with my hips, for what? I don't know. This needy feeling is new and strange to me.

He chuckles softly. His tongue making its own path down my neck. Swirling and tasting.

I quiver and jerk. My muscle spasms.

He nips under my jaw as his fingers strum me. Making his own music from my body. My muscles lock up tight. As I feel this intensity in my lower belly. My hips jerking forward. His hand moving faster. Thumb going in fast circles.

My mouth opens in a silent scream as my whole body comes undone in his hands. My legs give out as a thunderstorm of sensations rock my body.

He catches me around the waist. One hand still in my panties. In me. I quiver and shake in his arms. A panting mess.

He kisses my cheek softly, slipping his hand from my shorts. My eyes open looking into his face. A soft smile. A sparkle in his green eyes.

I'm embarrassed. My body still thrumming from him. From what he had me feeling.

I've never done anything like that before. But my God. The feelings. It could become addicting.
